Poems That Make You Cry - Sweet Poem -The Caged Skylark by Gerard Manley Hopkins

Poems That Make You Cry - Sweet Poem -The Caged Skylark by Gerard Manley Hopkins

Poems that make you cry are also great inspiration, and can spark some original and creative pieces. I looked around for sites to publish a few of mine. Finding paid writing sites that published poems wasn't easy. Many are interested only in writers who want to submit articles, not those who want to submit poems. Options I found were  ebook publishing, article submission sites and do-it-yourself business website hosting options - I posted them on my website.

One or two paid writing sites such as Triond allow you to publish poems online, network and share work, commenting on each others pieces. However you have to be really dedicated to building a social-networking fan base on the site - and this is time-consuming!

Another alternative for poetry lovers who want to write is poem analysis or the poem review sector of article writing. This is such a sample from my own site. New poetry collections, new poet biographies and audio books all make suitable review choices for poetry fans.

Touchez for Typepad! Trial Taken Forward

Logo      Third Party DNS and Blog Activation was a cinch for me with

Typepad this week. Just as well as I don't have a lot of time and can't afford to mess up! Linking blogs to our websites is supposed to be a good idea, generating traffic and the blogs taking on a life of their own as well  - so I thought I had better take some time out from freelancing/website building  this week, get my sleeves rolled and just get on with it.

I needn't have worried about wasting time - a few simple clicks and a short wait to make sure DNS settings were updated and it was done. I was less happy about the fact that I had to upgrade my account, although luckily the increase in cost was not too much and it means I can consider melding the design with my website one above. In order to avail of the third party service, Typepad users have to upgrade from Basic to the next level. The increase was manageable however - had it not been, I would have had to consider whether the outlay would prove cost-effective. After all, I had just decided not to be a serious 'hunched over the computer and pinging away all day' breed of blogger.

So, this remains a 'life in the day of ' kind of a freelancer diary notes blog. Over the coming week, I'll make some decisions as to what goes in it! One thing that probably won't go in is a Tip Jar or Donations Button! The Very Idea! Discussion on that next week - if people find my free sharing of experiences of Typepad useful, for example, I would prefer they showed their appreciation by clicking on my Typepad banner if they're going to do it anyway!

Dooyoo or Don't You Join Dooyoo?

    April 22nd Update

Still no word from Dooyoo customer support about that spam message, BUT.... (maybe more important?) lots of lovely welcome messages and positive reviews and comments from some great members! Codak_015_2

They have left about 40 positive comments on my Sony Ericsson mobile phone review.

Running Total of Dooyoo miles  -  830. Not bad for one review - maybe I'll stick around, the members are nice! Couple of site-loading pages glitches though, I wonder if they are like Ciao and have 'bug' issues?

DoYoo or Don't You Join DooYoo?

Well, I don't! Not at the moment anyway. I won't be adding Dooyoo to the list of paying writing sites I write for.

The first message I got from their site was a message from a Nigerian businessman who had fallen on hard times and wanted me to invest in some scheme!

What was it? Don't know - didn't hang around long enough to find out. I'm a busy writer with too much to do (including bringing my readers the latest tips, offers and gossip from all the sites I write for) - I need sites that work first time.

A dodgy messaging system with mail that could be intercepted is the last thing I need! Shame 'cos some of my writing buddies tell me you can get nice freebies from there in exchange for reviews.

I think I'll stick to my tried and trusted favourite writing sites that really do pay - the ones I feature in more depth on my website
